Branch Manager & Senior Wealth Advisor
My passion for business and helping others started when I was a teenager with the influence of my parents’ accounting practice. Growing up in the small town of Listowel, I learned to value the simple things in life like the importance of relationships. I take pride in finding out what success looks like for you. I value the process of learning about our clients and what is most important to them. I enjoy helping families and business owners create the lifestyle they envision and work closely with them to make their goals a reality. We map out a financial plan that will identify your goals and timelines to achieve them. I’ve been in the industry long enough to recognize that selecting individual stock investments for clients is difficult, and that’s why we use a pension fund approach for individual investors. We provide investment management strategies that are focused on achieving your financial objectives. I am a strong believer in family life and that’s why you will find me in the hockey rinks or enjoying water sports with my family at the cottage. Where I feel I can give back to my community is in using my network to help with causes that are meaningful to me, like SickKids, the Canadian Cancer Society and supporting various local sports teams.
Executive Assistant & Senior Wealth Advisor Assistant
I believe in the power of kindness and the idea that one person can make a difference. My passion for helping people is a value that was passed on from my Mom while growing up in Newfoundland. I feel this has led me to a fulfilling career in client service in the financial industry for over 40 years. I have a real-world experience that gives me a valuable insight in my role as an Executive Assistant. I'm inspired by learning and enjoy evolving with a changing global environment. As a licensed Registered Representative, I am able to assist and support our team with the organizational details of financial management. Additionally, I look after our marketing initiatives for the team and branch which helps keeps my creative mind fresh. I am grateful for my role with the KW Business Women’s Association and the opportunity to surround myself with professional role models and mentors. My happy place away from the office is time spent with family and friends whether it be at home, at the cottage, or traveling and enjoying life.
Branch Administrator & Senior Wealth Advisor Assistant
I have always gravitated to positions that lend to my expertise in administrative skills. I enjoy managing the day-to-day operations of the Waterloo Branch and particularly with our team, Schaefer Financial. With nearly 30 years in the financial securities industry, I have learned to adapt to a fast-paced environment where my experience and organizational skills are essential. I feel that my personal sense of responsibility and unwavering patience comes from my Dad’s influence. I enjoy the interacting with our clients and assisting them with their administrative needs. Along with my Canadian Securities credentials, I have been successful in obtaining the Assistant Branch Managers designation over the past few years. This is an accomplishment I am pleased to have knocked off my goals list, enabling me to take on more responsibility. When I am not in the office, you will find me reading a good book, taking a scenic motorcycle trip in the country, boating on the lakes and spending quality time with my family.
Administrative Assistant (NL)
Ever since I can remember, I've had a passion for making meaningful connections with people. That's why I started my university career as a marketing student at the University of Guelph. However, it wasn't long before I discovered the world of finance and knew this is what I wanted to do. I switched into the Management Economics and Finance program and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Throughout my life, both of my parents taught me the importance of a good attitude and a strong work ethic. Having worked in service and sales positions at a young age, it quickly became clear I would be in a career of helping others. I plan on using my passion for people while building my financial expertise to provide the best possible service to our clients. I'm excited to return to my hometown, Kitchener-Waterloo to begin my career with the Schaefer Financial Team. Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar/bass, investing, and hopelessly awaiting on the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup.
